Recently Finished

I loved The Slow Regard of Silent Things – it’s one of those books that has embedded itself in my consciousness. Auri is now one of my favourite characters of all time.
The Shadow of Perseus was an ARC audiobook I read via Netgalley. It absolutely kept me listening, but I had a few quibbles with it too.

I’m half way through Frontier, another ARC which is due to be published on 9 March, and I’m enjoying it so very much. Full review to come.
Home Fire I’m also loving, but have paused about 30% of the way through as this is a book I own, and I have a whole load of NetGalley and library books I need to read on a more urgent timescale!
I’m almost at the end of the audiobook of Last Argument of Kings, which is is a RIDE. I have THOUGHTS. In CAPITALS. Which will come another day.

The first three of these are library books sitting on my coffee table, and I’m intimidated by the size of Priory when set against the three weeks I have it out on loan. Normal People I’ve been wanting to read for ages as I’ve enjoyed the other two Sally Rooney books I’ve read, and The Half Life of Valery K is also from a favourite author – Natasha Pulley of The Watchmaker of Filigree Street and The Kingdoms, both of which I loved.
The Collected Regrets of Clover and On Being Unreasonable are books I requested via Netgalley. I was drawn to both of them by the covers and descriptions – the first being about, well, death, which apparently I find fascinating, and the second about rules and when to break them. I’m really looking forward to reading them.
Have you read any of these books? What are you reading this week?
