This is a brilliant take on the disorientation of new motherhood – massively empathetic (both to the narrator and the few other characters – her husband and the elderly upstairs neighbour), and simultaneously very funny and irreverent. It’s a book that navigates extremes of feeling but also admits hope and sweetness, such that I got to the last page feeling uplifted rather than drained. Beautifully written, hugely recommend!
