Short stories set in the same world as “Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell”, exploring the magic, the perspective of women and ominous owls 🦉🦉🦉… A similar tone to the longer novel, with wry humour and in depth world building. Some of the stories felt more detached than others. The titular story (which contains the owls)  definitely my favourite… beautifully paced, with little said but everything implied…
